Influenza (flu) A/B and Covid-19 – rapid test

When should we take the test?

Respiratory viruses cause acute, local and/or systemic pathological changes. Difficult cases occur in the elderly, immunocompromised patients and children.

Both Covid-19 and influenza A/B flu can have varying degrees of symptoms, ranging from no symptoms (asymptomatic) to severe symptoms. Common symptoms of covid-19 and flu include:

• Fever or chills
• Cough
• Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
• Fatigue
• Sore throat
• discharge from the nose
• headache
• Vomiting
• Diarrhea (more common in children with flu, but can occur in people of any age with Covid-19).
• Change or loss of taste or smell, although this is more common with Covid-19;
• nasal congestion;
• Myalgia (muscle pain or body aches).

Antigen testing is recommended within 7 days of symptoms.
