When should we take the test?

The study is recommended in patients with elevated or impaired thyroid function:

Signs of increased thyroid function:

• Weight loss will be followed by normal or increased appetite
• Accelerated pulse and increase in blood pressure
• Gentle, warm, moist skin with a tendency to sweat
• Shivering
• Insomnia, emotional tension, irritability, crying
• Standing in front of the eyes
• Frequent urination or diarrhea

Or vice versa, when the function decreases, it is observed:

• Weight gain, even with reduced appetite
• Slowing of the heartbeat and decreased blood pressure
• Pale, swollen, cold skin
• Depression, drowsiness, memory impairment
• Constipation
• Thinning eyebrows or hair loss
• Constant feeling of coldness

Presence of thyroid diseases in blood relatives.

The test is also prescribed for people with an enlarged gland (so-called "goiter") or "nodules".
