General Information

The Sars-Cov-2 PCR test is a Polymerase Chain Reaction that detects the presence of new Coronavirus genetic material, RNA, in a sample of a nose-throat smear.

The test is used when the virus is suspected in the body, at an early stage (from the first day of symptoms) and during the acute phase of the infection. It has a number of advantages:

  • The test is characterized by high accuracy - 97,5%;
  • Does not require additional equipment to detect the virus;
  • Test execution and response time - 15-30 minutes;
  • Ease of use, it is possible to perform the test at home;
  • Getting test results quickly in the early stages of the disease (as soon as the first symptoms appear);
  • Ability to make decision about isolation quickly..

This test is produced by the British company "Prestige Diagnostics", which is a leading manufacturer of diagnostic reagents. Reagents have the highest quality in accordance with international standards. The company has accreditation in accordance with ISO 13485: 2016 standard.

When should we take the test?

It is recommended to have an antigen test within 6 days of the onset of symptoms and an antibody test from the 7th day.

The test is designed for:

  • For clinics: Through the test, medical staff can identify the person "carrier" of the virus in 15 minutes and make a decision to isolate the "carrier" of the virus or hospitalize the patient in a special ward.
  • For laboratories: The test allows laboratories to detect the virus at an early stage (from day 1 of symptoms) and in the acute phase of infection. Is an analogue of the PCR test.
  • For employers: The test allows you to identify infected employees at an early stage.
  • For individuals: Any person can take the test at home without special training. The test allows us to find out if the respiratory symptoms are caused by Covid-19 infection.

How to prepare for the test?

No special training is required.

A nose-throat smear is required for testing.
