Urine analysis

Urine tests (total urine analysis, urine microscopy, or both) are used to look at the visual, chemical, and microscopic aspects of urine. Urine tests are often done to monitor for urinary tract infections, kidney problems, or diabetes. Urine tests may be done to assess your general health, whether you are in the hospital, before surgery, or during pregnancy. Tests are used to screen and evaluate many types of kidney disease, to diagnose liver disease, to diagnose and monitor disease progression (e.g., diabetes, arterial hypertension).
