Genetic tests are used to diagnose genetic disorders and diseases. Genetic testing is the process of examining cells or tissues to detect changes in genes, chromosomes, and specific proteins that may be a sign of disease or disorder, such as cancer. These changes can also be a sign that a person has a risk of developing a specific disease or condition, a predisposition.
