Tests on Covid-19 - Analysis of samples to assess current or past infection. One part of the tests detects the virus (antigen and PCR tests), and the other part detects the antibodies produced in response to the infection. Molecular tests are used to confirm the presence of the virus in individual cases, while antibody tests (serological immunoassay) show whether an individual has been infected, they are less useful in diagnosing the current infection because antibodies may not be produced for several weeks after infection.
