January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month.
Synevo joins the campaign for the month of January, which aims at early detection of cervical cancer symptoms, regular self-examination and screening tests as needed.
Cervical cancer is a type of cancer that develops in the cells of the cervix - the lower part of the uterus that connects to the vagina. It is established that one of the causes of cervical cancer is the human papilloma virus (HPV). Human papilloma virus (HPV) is sexually transmitted.
Please note: a special brush and vial are required to take a smear from the cervix, as well as a referral form, which you can pick up at our branches. The research material should be taken by a professional.
