Fadiatop and Fadiatop Infant | Allergy screening tests

Allergic diseases are one of the leading chronic diseases in the world. According to studies, the incidence of atopy increases significantly in children. Although there is a consensus about the genetic predisposition of atopic (allergic) diseases, the increase in the number of cases can be explained only by changes in environmental factors.

During allergic processes, allergy tests are recommended, including general and allergen-specific IgE threshold.

Fadiatop Allergic screening test with high sensitivity and specificity for inhalation allergens. It is an enzyme immunoassay and examines the presence of IgE antibodies against a mixture of allergens such as grass, tree, weed dust, cat and dog dander, dust mites and mold. A positive response means that the person is allergic to at least one of these allergens. It should be noted that the test does not assess sensitivity to food, drugs and various chemical agents.

Fadiatop Infante It is intended for children under 5 years of age and includes the detection of IgE antibodies developed against such food and inhalation antigens as: chicken eggs, cow's milk, peanuts, shrimps, cat fur and epithelium, dog fur, room dust mite, silver fir, ragweed, wallwort.

When should we do the research?  In the presence of at least one symptom characteristic of an allergic process (rhinitis, runny nose, itching of the skin and mucous membranes, sneezing), the duration of which is 4 weeks or more, it is recommended to perform a Fadiatop or Fadiatop-Infant test (allergy panels and individual tests for allergens are also used, depending on the need). It makes sense to carry out research in the presence of symptoms and for differential diagnostics. The sensitivity and specificity of Fadiatop and Fadiatop-Infant tests are 96,5-98,5%, both in adults and children.

Differential diagnostics Laboratory tests allow us to differentiate atopic (allergic) dermatitis from diseases such as seborrhea, eczema, toxiderma and others.

How is the test done?   The research material is venous blood

How to prepare for the test? It does not require special preparation.

Interpretation of results: Fadiatopi and Fadiatopi Infanti  A positive answer indicates that the person is allergic to at least one component of the given allergen mixture. However, when contact with the allergen ceases, the concentration of specific IgE decreases again, so a negative response does not rule out allergy.
